For nearly sixty years, Toujours Mikes has been synonymous with warmth and authentic flavors in Quebec. Founded in 1967 in Montreal by the Marano brothers: Antonio, Michael, Domenico, and Aldo, this brand has evolved while remaining true to its Quebec roots.
The Beginnings: A Montreal Family Story
The adventure began with a small restaurant where the Marano brothers served hot submarine sandwiches inspired by their mother’s recipes. The success was immediate, and by 1972, the first franchise was launched. In 1975, pizza was added to the menu, followed by table service in the 1980s and the opening of numerous restaurants, making Toujours Mikes the leading Quebec-based restaurant chain specializing in hot subs and pizza.
Expansion Rooted in Quebec
Over the years, Toujours Mikes has established itself as a cornerstone of Quebec’s restaurant scene. Today, with over 60 locations, primarily in Quebec, these restaurants have become classic gathering spots for families and friends, offering generous and comforting dishes that reflect local flavors.
Commitment to Local Products
Proud of its origins, Toujours Mikes prioritizes partnerships with Quebec and Canadian producers:
In 2020, the brand was certified Aliments du Québec au menu for its menu, which features predominantly Quebec-sourced ingredients.
In 2021, a collaboration with Savoura was established to supply locally grown tomatoes, ensuring freshness while supporting the regional economy.
Local partnerships have since multiplied, notably:
Monsieur Cocktail in 2023, with whom we collaborated to develop our cocktail menu, highlighting their delicious syrups.
Les Fumoirs Gosselin, with whom we initially partnered in 2024 for our Smokin’ promotion, featuring their exquisite smoked products. The success of these dishes allowed us to bring back the promotion for a second consecutive year.
A Constantly Evolving Brand
Approaching its 50th anniversary in 2016, Toujours Mikes underwent a brand refresh. A new logo and the slogan “Toujours bon. Toujours ensemble. Toujours Mikes.”(“Always good. Always together. Always Mikes.”) were unveiled, symbolizing the chain’s commitment to evolving while honoring its Quebec heritage.
