Toujours Mikes is on the hunt for the ultimate yummylicious sub
Yes champ, as professional sub makers, Toujours Mikes decided to take on a major challenge this fall: we're on the hunt for the ULTIMATE yummylicious sub. To do so, we asked our 65 sub athletes to submit their original sub recipes. After receiving dozens of recipes, each more original than the last, we set up an exceptional jury of 4 food pros - Gurky, Laurent Dagenais, Allison Van Rassel and Anthony Tran - to select the 3 best recipes.
The 3 finalist subs
The Chicken Yassine from Chicoutimi: Chicken strips marinated in thyme, parsley, mustard, garlic and olive oil, tomatoes, lettuce and herbs oil.
The Eurosub from Baie-Comeau: Italian sausage, cheese sticks, wine sauerkraut, spicy mustard, arugula, fried onions and herbs oil.
The Sweetsub from Saint-Nicolas: Brownie, ice cream, whipped cream, powdered sugar and your choice of coulis, served on a fried sub bun coated with French toast seasoning, sugar and cinnamon.
