Detroit, the Motor City... and the Pizza City!
When you hear "Detroit," you probably think of the auto industry and Eminem. But did you know that this city also gave birth to a one-of-a-kind pizza? Detroit-style pizza features a thick, crispy crust baked in a rectangular pan reminiscent of the metal trays used in auto factories. The cheese extends to the edges, caramelizing the crust for an ultra-crispy exterior while remaining soft and airy inside.
At Toujours Mikes, we love innovating in the kitchen while respecting the classics. That’s why, starting February 17 at participating restaurants, we’re introducing four new Detroit-style pizzas, each with a unique flavor profile that will delight the whole family.
Philly Cheesy: Fans of rich, indulgent flavors, this one's for you! Picture a base of garlic spread, juicy Philly steak, sautéed onions, and an ultra-creamy cheese sauce. Topped with melted mozzarella, this pizza is pure bliss!
Carbonara Mushrooms-Bacon: When Italy meets Detroit, you get this masterpiece inspired by the famous Carbonara sauce. Crispy bacon, grilled mushrooms, mozzarella, and a perfectly creamy sauce... It's the perfect balance of crunch, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and smoky goodness.
Veggie: A Detroit-style pizza without meat but packed with flavor! Artichokes, mushrooms, black olives, red peppers, onions, and broccoli come together on a Neapolitan sauce base, with a generous helping of mozzarella tying it all together. A burst of color and taste in every bite!
Double-Pepp and Spicy Honey: We’re wrapping things up with a pizza that plays on contrasts: classic pepperoni AND crispy pepperoni, the perfect mix for charcuterie lovers. But wait... We’ve added spicy honey for an irresistible sweet-and-savory combo. Love at first bite guaranteed!
